HISTORY
The Austin Police Department was the first in the country to start what has become a tradition across the country. A tradition that brightens the lives of children every Holiday season. This charitable outreach began in 1972 when two patrol officers realized that 20 families on their patrol beat would not have gifts or food for their children at Christmas. This year we will serve close to 5,000 families including 13,000 children.
