Chuy's Children Giving to Children Parade •   Chuy's Children Giving to Children Parade is a toy drive for Operation Blue Santa. Spectators are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate during the event.

The parade route begins at the State Capitol Building at 11th and Congress and will run south to Cesar Chavez just north of the bridge.

See holiday floats, Hello Kitty & Coca Cola Polar Bear Balloons, UT and Olympic Coaches Bubba Thornton & Eddie Reese, local marching bands, Santa & much more!  Enjoy live music by Sara Hickman, The Biscuit Brothers & more!

Bring the whole family and enjoy the fun - it is a great way to kick off the holiday season!

Sunday December 7th 6pm
Zilker Christmas Tree Lighting • Each year the Parks and Recreation Department and Austin Energy hold a lighting ceremony to officially light the tree. This year the ceremony will begin at 6:00pm.  The public is invited to attend the celebration and participate in the lighting ceremony.  In addition to the ceremony, the department presents "Giving to Others" an opportunity for the citizens of Austin to donate toys and/or cash to Operation Blue Santa. Collection of any unwrapped toy appropriate for ages 14 and under will be located under the "Blue Santa" tent at the tree lighting ceremony. Blue Santa will be on site to visit with children and accept donations.

Family, friends & neighbors...everyone is welcome! Bring a new unwrapped toy for Operation Blue Santa!

Join Bucky & Bob and friends as we broadcast live all morning long, at
the legendary Broken Spoke in Austin, Texas 3201 S. Lamar, raising funds and toys for Operation Blue Santa. Join the cause & help our community won’t you!

2008 KEYE Toy Drive • Dec 1st - Dec 12th
Beginning Mon. Dec. 1, CBS 42 invites you to drop-off new, unwrapped toys at any Chuy’s, Shady Grove, Hula Hut, OmniBank, WalMart, Intercontinental Stephen F. Austin Hotel, MT Supermarket at Chinatown Center, KEYE studio and all Austin Firestations through Fri. Dec. 12.
 

Sunday December 14th Trail of Lights Opening • 7pm Zilker Park - Come join us for the opening night of this mile long display of 38 lighted scenes that has become an Austin Holiday Tradition.  It runs nightly through December 23rd, 7pm-10pm.

Friday December 12 Southpark Meadows Blue Santa Night

December 12th-14th  We invite you to enjoy gardens lit with more than 3,000 luminarias, 5,000 twinkle lights and hammered copper torches and to listen to music of the season from local  bands, quarters and choirs.  Admission is free with two canned food items for the Capital Area Food Bank or a gift for Blue Santa.

Saturday December 20th Delivery Day • Come to the Blue Santa warehouse and join us for a day of giving and sharing by being a part of Delivery Day. Experience the community spirit that makes Austin such a great city by wrapping your spirit around the moment and helping us deliver Christmas to kids and families around the city.  Guaranteed to fill your soul with the spirit of the holidays.

Starting at 8am volunteers from the Austin Police Dept, the Austin Fire Dept, Austin Parks & Recreation Department, the Texas National Guard and the local community form a band of merry elves and deliver to the families.
